Cristina
“Me, Cristina, I come out of silence with all of myself. Me free, me in love with everything I believe in, me loosened by all constriction. There is no flame that extinguishes me, water that drowns me, prison that imprison me. I immerse myself, until I am pierced, by all my passions”.
The image of Cristina is inspired by Byzantine frescoes of the Cripta di Santa Cristina in Carpignano Salentino, in Apulia. Falling into the silence of a Crypt that speaks about the ancient Byzantine world is a great emotion for us, and even more to find the figure of a Saint who represents so strongly the struggle for what you believe in.
Every plate was realised handmade in the workshop of Giuseppe Indino in Lucugnano, following the traditional techniques of ceramic processing. The plates, hand painted on illustration of Ylenia Comi, are limited edition pieces. All illustrations have Sighé Collection copyright.
